Football star and newly signed Inter Miami player Lionel Messi had a close call with a car accident when his vehicle ran a red light and entered moving traffic in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The incident occurred on Friday, July 14. It appears that the accident was not Messi's fault as a fan approached his car while it was in motion at the intersection. Messi had a police escort with sirens on, suggesting he may have had permission to run the red light. The oncoming driver should have noticed the presence of the police car and adjusted their driving accordingly. Fortunately, no one was injured as both Messi and the other driver managed to slow down before any collision occurred. Video footage aired by TyC Sports showed Messi leaving the Inter Miami training facilities in a luxurious white SUV. The incident nearly marred Messi's Miami debut, as he is set to be unveiled by the team on Sunday, July 16, and is expected to make his first appearance on July 21 against Cruz Azul in The Leagues Cup. Since arriving in the United States, Messi has been familiarizing himself with the Miami area. On a separate occasion, he was seen shopping at a Publix grocery store in South Beach with his children. It is important for fans to exercise caution and refrain from approaching Messi while he is driving. Messi and his entourage are likely to pay closer attention to traffic signals in the future.

Lucky Charms cereal were spotted as Messi began joking with his children in the store, with his son already wearing a Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt. Messi already has a sandwich named after him at the world-famous restaurant. It was intriguingly named “Made For You by Leo Messi” meal.
