Less than two minutes later, Gundogan played a key role in City's second goal by providing a precise cross to Erling Haaland, who headed the ball into the back of the net. This was Haaland's 36th Premier League goal of the season and his 52nd in all competitions. City extended their lead to 3-0 early in the second half when Phil Foden was fouled just outside the penalty area, and Gundogan scored his second of the match by expertly placing the ball into the top corner of the net.
With this result, Manchester City have now moved four points clear of their title rivals, Arsenal, ahead of Arsenal's match against Brighton later on Sunday. Everton, on the other hand, remain in 17th place in the Premier League standings, just one point above the relegation zone, with two games left to play.
