Galatasaray insider Kağan Dursun has revealed detailed information regarding Manchester United’s recent attempt to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. According to Dursun, the Premier League giants made a significant move by tabling a verbal offer of €70 million (₦113 billion) to Napoli, the player’s parent club, in an effort to secure his services.
The Nigerian international, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been showcasing exceptional form this season. With an impressive tally of 14 goals across all competitions, Osimhen has firmly established himself as one of the most sought-after forwards in European football. “Manchester United recently made a verbal offer of €70 million to Napoli for Osimhen. The club even sent representatives to Istanbul to persuade him, but they ultimately returned empty-handed as the player decided against the move,” Dursun revealed in an interview with Habersarikirmizi.
Osimhen has publicly reiterated his intention to stay at Galatasaray for the remainder of the season. However, speculation about a possible January transfer continues to circulate, fueled by his impressive form and interest from Europe’s elite clubs.
In addition to confirming United’s unsuccessful bid, Dursun provided further insights into the player’s contract situation. He disclosed that Osimhen’s agreement includes a January exit clause, which could open the door for a potential transfer if a suitable offer is made.
“Osimhen has a January exit clause in his contract, but it is not exclusive to Galatasaray. This clause allows any interested club to negotiate with him directly, provided they can present an offer that meets his expectations,” Dursun explained, leaving the possibility of a mid-season transfer wide open.
