Victor Osimhen has officially joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli. The agreement includes an option for the Turkish club to extend his contract with the Italian team until June 2027.
This move comes after a challenging summer for the Nigerian striker. He was left out of Napoli’s plans following unsuccessful transfer attempts to Al-Ittihad and Chelsea on the transfer deadline day.
Napoli had made it clear that Osimhen was no longer part of Antonio Conte’s squad, with reports suggesting that the player had refused to feature for the team, further complicating his situation.
With most transfer windows now closed, the Turkish Süper Lig emerged as the only viable option for Osimhen, allowing him to avoid spending the season on the sidelines.

The deal enables Osimhen to join Galatasaray for free, with the Turkish club covering most of his €10 million salary. According to the official statement, Osimhen will receive a net salary of €6 million during his time in Turkey, while Napoli will cover his wages for July and August 2024.
Osimhen, who will wear the Number 45 jersey at Galatasaray, now looks forward to revitalizing his career in Turkey while keeping his long-term future tied to Napoli until 2027.
