Bayern Munich are reportedly nearing the acquisition of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, who has been a target since 2023. According to Fabrizio Romano, the clubs are in the final stages of negotiating a fee that exceeds £42 million for the Portuguese international. Additional payments could potentially bring the total to around £46.2 million, just £4 million short of Fulham’s record sale of Aleksandar Mitrovic. Bayern's initial attempt to secure Palhinha's services in 2023 collapsed on transfer deadline day. Under new manager Vincent Kompany, Bayern revived their interest despite Fulham initially rejecting three offers and setting a £59 million asking price. However, the current agreement, though lower, includes favorable payment terms. Palhinha is expected to sign a four-year contract pending a medical. His departure could pave the way for Fulham to pursue Fluminense’s Brazilian midfielder Andre, who received a £30 million bid from the London club in January.
