Arsenal have reportedly shown interest in Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez after the Argentine has sought regular playing time. Alvarez has hinted at a possible departure from City due to his frustration over limited game time in crucial matches last season.
Following Argentina’s quarter-final exit in the Paris Olympics, Alvarez indicated that he would soon consider his future with Manchester City. “I haven’t stopped to think about what I’m going to do,” Alvarez said. “Last season I was one of the players who played the most minutes.”
“But it’s true: in the end, in some important games, it’s not pleasant to be left out. I will have time to consider my decision,” he added.
City manager Pep Guardiola responded to Alvarez’s comments during the club’s pre-season tour in the US. “I read he has to think about it, so okay, think about it and after that, he will inform us what he wants to do,” Guardiola remarked.
Arsenal, who have previously signed four players from Manchester City, have now registered their interest in the 24-year-old forward. However, it remains unclear whether Arsenal will make a formal bid for Alvarez at this time.
