Israel Adesanya has acknowledged Mohamed Salah’s tribute after the Liverpool forward used his signature celebration during a recent match.
Salah, who made a significant impact in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, celebrated his goal by mimicking Adesanya’s iconic archer gesture.
In his post-match interview, Salah revealed the inspiration behind the celebration, referencing Adesanya’s memorable UFC victory over Alex Pereira. Salah explained: “I was watching the UFC – Alex Pereira against Israel Adesanya. When he [Adesanya] won the second fight against Pereira, he celebrated like that because Pereira beat him in the first one. I like the celebration, that’s why I do it.”
Adesanya, known in the UFC as ‘The Last Stylebender,’ took to social media to respond to Salah’s homage with a simple but meaningful message: “Each one teach one.”
