Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) conducted a sting operation in the Badarwa area of Kaduna on February 25 and caught a woman with 18 voter cards. The suspect, identified as Maryam Mamman Alhaji, is a supporter of one of the major political parties. She was also found to have a 17-page list of registered voters in Badarwa/Malali Wards 01 and 08, Kaduna North Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The list contained the voters' names, bank information, and phone numbers.
The EFCC undercover agents claimed to have voter cards and showed interest in selling them, which led to the arrest of the suspect. She is presently being questioned by EFCC agents from the Kaduna Zonal Command to identify other members of her syndicate who are also allegedly obtaining voter registration cards and submitting fees via PoS or direct bank transactions.
