President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the highly anticipated Joint Arab-Islamic Summit. This summit, a significant event on the global diplomatic calendar, will focus on discussing the ongoing situation in the Middle East and other key international issues. The event is being held at the invitation of King Salman of Saudi Arabia, alongside Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and marks another important chapter in regional cooperation.

This summit is following up on last year’s summit, which was also hosted in Riyadh. It is expected to provide a platform for leaders to exchange views, coordinate their responses to various crises, and collaborate on finding solutions to regional conflicts and challenges, especially the escalating issues in the Middle East. The summit's primary agenda will include discussions on the current Israel-Palestinian conflict, as well as regional security and economic cooperation among Arab and Islamic nations.

As part of Nigeria’s commitment to the peace process, President Tinubu is expected to make a strong statement during the summit. He will highlight Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to address the Israel-Palestinian conflict, stressing Nigeria’s firm call for an immediate ceasefire and the urgent need for dialogue to achieve a lasting peace. The Nigerian leader will reiterate his country’s position on the importance of stability and security in the region and the role of diplomacy in achieving these goals. His speech will underline Nigeria’s support for peace and its desire to play a constructive role in international peacebuilding efforts.

Accompanying President Tinubu to the summit are several key government officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Mohammed Mohammed. These officials will be engaging in high-level discussions and negotiations with their counterparts from across the Arab and Islamic world to further strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic ties and contribute to regional peace initiatives.
