Tinubu praises the restart of Warri Refinery

 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the restart of the Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, describing it as a significant achievement that marks a positive way to conclude the year. The announcement was made through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday, highlighting the President’s satisfaction with this development. Tinubu praised the NNPCL for following through on his directive to restore all four refineries in the country, which has been a major priority for his administration. The President expressed his confidence that the restart of the Warri Refinery would play a crucial role in Nigeria’s journey towards self-sufficiency in refining and enhancing its position as a key player in the global oil market. He also noted that this accomplishment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the NNPCL in fulfilling this vital mission.
  

In his statement, Tinubu further emphasized that the restart of the Warri Refinery is a key milestone for the country, one that fills Nigerians with renewed hope and optimism for the future. The President conveyed that this development aligns with the brighter future his administration has promised the citizens. He expressed joy in seeing the successful completion of the restoration efforts, noting that it is a remarkable way to end the year, especially following the earlier success with the old Port Harcourt Refinery.

  

The statement reads, “The restart of the Warri Refinery today brings joy and hope to Nigerians. This milestone will further strengthen the confidence of Nigerians in the brighter future we promised. It is a remarkable way to end the year, following the earlier success with the old Port Harcourt Refinery. I am pleased that NNPCL is implementing my directive to restore all four refineries to full working condition.”

  

Tinubu went on to extend his congratulations to Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director of NNPCL, and his entire team for their outstanding efforts in bringing the Warri Refinery back to life. He praised their hard work and determination in restoring Nigeria’s national pride and positioning the country as a major hub for crude oil refining in Africa. The President expressed optimism that the restoration of the refineries would significantly contribute to the country’s economic growth and help secure Nigeria’s energy future.
