President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi following the passing of his mother, Hajia Maryam Namadi.
In a statement released on Thursday and signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu encouraged Governor Namadi and his family to find solace in the fact that the late Hajia Maryam lived a meaningful life and left behind a lasting legacy of integrity. According to reports, Hajia Namadi’s death was announced on Wednesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel. The family mourns the loss of a strong matriarch who had been a pillar of support and guidance to them all. Her passing has left a deep void, especially for the Governor, who had a close bond with his mother.
She passed away in the early hours of the day and was laid to rest in her hometown of Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, in accordance with Islamic burial rites. The entire state, including the Governor’s family, community members, and well-wishers, observed the mourning rituals with great reverence.
In his message, President Tinubu urged the family to honor her memory by continuing her philanthropic efforts and preserving her enduring legacy.
