The senior pastor of the City of David Parish of RCCG, Idowu Iluyomade, who was suspended because of his wife’s lavish party, has now opened his own church.
It would be recalled that a week after the death of a prominent member of the RCCG, and the former CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, Idowu Iluyomade’s wife threw a lavish 60th birthday celebration for herself. The party featured performances by popular singer Flavour, along with other entertainers.
However, during the funeral of Herbert Wigwe, the family reportedly refused to invite the pastor and his wife to attend. This incident led to the suspension of Pastor Idowu Iluyomade by the governing council of RCCG in June 2024 due to the controversial nature of the lavish event held by his wife so soon after the passing of such a respected figure in the church.
