The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command has successfully arrested a 46-year-old man, Nawaisi Abdullahi, in connection with the abduction of a five-year-old girl, Miracle Yakubu, and has safely rescued the young victim. The arrest was made after a swift response to a distress call on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at approximately 10:00 AM.

The Command's spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, provided details of the case in a statement released on Monday, revealing that Abdullahi was seen walking with the child along the Mobil Filling Station by the Jabi Expressway, headed toward an unknown destination. Police operatives from the Utako Police Division, working in collaboration with local vigilantes, quickly intervened after receiving the distress call, leading to the arrest of the suspect and the safe recovery of the child.

Preliminary investigation confirmed that Abdullahi had taken Miracle without her mother’s consent. The victim’s mother, a local bean cake (akara) vendor from Utako Village, had been unaware of her child's whereabouts. Upon the child’s rescue, police officers promptly reunited her with her relieved family. The suspect, Abdullahi, is currently being held in police custody while authorities continue their investigation to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the abduction.

The FCT Police Command has assured the public that they are diligently working to ensure justice is served, and the investigation is ongoing to uncover more details about the incident and any potential motives behind the abduction.
