Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the ongoing Ondo State gubernatorial election, is leading by a wide margin as the collation of results nears completion. The electoral race is intensifying, and the results so far have shown a significant advantage for Aiyedatiwa, who has maintained a commanding lead over his main opponent, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). As the voting results are being collated, the political atmosphere in Ondo is charged with anticipation, with many waiting to see if this trend continues as the final results roll in.
According to figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Aiyedatiwa has secured 301,113 votes, significantly ahead of Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who has 97,051 votes. This large margin, a gap of 204,062 votes, underscores the APC’s strong showing in the election so far, with Aiyedatiwa’s popularity continuing to grow across the state. The results so far paint a picture of a decisive performance by Aiyedatiwa, reflecting widespread support for the APC, as indicated by the figures released from the various local government areas. Results from three Local Government Areas (LGAs) are still pending as the collation process continues at INEC’s office in Akure, the state capital.
