Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have successfully apprehended notorious druglord, Alhaja Aishat Feyisara, in connection with major illicit drug shipments.
According to reports, Alhaja Aishat Feyisara, who is also known for her career as a filmmaker, was arrested at her residence in the Okota area of Lagos after NDLEA operatives intercepted a truck carrying illicit drugs, a consignment that had been entrusted to one of her employees. The arrest took place on the same day that the truckload of drugs was seized from her staff member.
Femi Babafemi, the spokesperson for the NDLEA, confirmed that Alhaja Aishat Feyisara had been on their wanted list for an extended period, due to her leadership role in a drug cartel based in the Mushin area of Lagos. Babafemi shared in a statement: “Known in the drug underworld as 'Iya Ruka,' Alhaja Ajoke, as she is called by her associates, had managed to keep her true identity concealed for many years, operating under the radar while coordinating illicit activities.”
The investigation and subsequent bust were triggered by intelligence gathered by NDLEA operatives, who intercepted a white Izuzu truck driven by one of Feyisara’s staff, 41-year-old Abideen Adio. The truck was carrying an enormous load, comprising 44 jumbo sacks containing 1,540 kilograms of imported cannabis. The drugs were intended for distribution, and the driver was quickly detained upon the interception of the shipment.
Following the seizure of the drugs, the operatives moved swiftly to Alhaja Aishat Feyisara’s hideout located at 33 Adebayo Oyewole Street, off Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos. She was subsequently arrested at her residence, marking the end of a lengthy investigation and pursuit by NDLEA authorities.
