The late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, was laid to rest on Friday, with heartfelt condolences pouring in from various quarters, including Governor Umo Eno and the people of Akwa Ibom State, as well as several prominent figures across the country.
Earlier, Gistreel reported that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi expressed his deepest sympathy, calling her death a significant loss not only to the Governor and their children but also to the entire state and nation. He offered prayers for God’s comfort and strength for the grieving family during this painful time. Similarly, the Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) extended its condolences, mourning the late First Lady as a revered and esteemed "Mother of the State."
Governor Umo Eno, in a heartfelt speech, expressed his immense gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, as well as Nigerians both at home and abroad, for their overwhelming support, love, and prayers during this difficult period. Speaking during a service of songs held in honor of his late wife, the Governor thanked everyone for the immense kindness and solidarity shown throughout the funeral ceremonies, which took place at his country home in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area. He acknowledged the comfort provided by the numerous messages of condolence and prayers that had poured in from well-wishers near and far.
The funeral ceremony, attended by several dignitaries, was a solemn occasion as the Akwa Ibom State community came together to pay their final respects to Pastor Patience Umo Eno. The Governor and his family took solace in the presence of loved ones, friends, and supporters who offered both emotional and spiritual support.
