Hon Dennis Idahosa, the representative for Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, emerged victorious in the APC governorship primary election in Edo State.
Announcing the results, Sen Hope Uzodinma, the chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee and governor of Imo State, revealed that Idahosa secured a total of 40,483 votes, solidifying his position as the APC flagbearer for the September 21 governorship election in the state.
Idahosa[/figure]Uzodinma clarified a mix-up regarding the Secretariat location, stating that the Protea Hotel, not Lushville Hotel where results were initially announced, was the authentic Secretariat.
However, the coalition of APC governorship election results in Edo State faced disruption by suspected political thugs. The collation, taking place at Lushville Hotel and Suite in GRA, Benin, was interrupted after results from eight local government areas had been announced.
Despite the presence of security operatives, journalists covering the event were attacked by the suspected thugs who prompted a sudden evacuation of the event center.
As of the current report, individuals, whose identities cannot be immediately confirmed, are preparing to brief the media at the residence of former governorship aspirant Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
