A family mourning the death of their grandfather faced another devastating tragedy as five relatives tragically lost their lives in a car accident while returning from a condolence visit. The heartbreaking event has left their community in deep sorrow.
The incident was brought to public attention by Twitter user @MSIngawa, who had earlier shared the sad news of their grandfather’s death, Baffa Alhaji Isah Ingawa, on Sunday, January 5th. In his first tweet, he wrote, “Innalillahi Wa’inna Ilaihi Raji’un. In the early hours of today, Sunday, January 5th, we lost our beloved grandfather, Baffa Alhaji Isah Ingawa. He was buried in accordance with Islamic rites. He was a father figure, a source of unity for our family, and a wellspring of encouragement, knowledge, and wisdom. We ask Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdausi.”
Sadly, the day turned even darker when six family members who had travelled to pay their respects in Ingawa were involved in a fatal car accident on their return journey to Katsina Town. According to a follow-up tweet, three of the relatives died instantly at the crash site, while another succumbed to injuries at General Hospital in Mani. A sixth family member remains in critical condition, fighting for their life.
Providing further details, @MSIngawa shared, “Innalillahi Wa’inna Ilaihi Raji’un. Yesterday, this car was with us, carrying six of our relatives who came to Ingawa to condole with us over the loss of our grandfather. On their way back to Katsina Town, they met with an accident. Three died on the spot, one died later at General Hospital, Mani, and another remains critically injured.”
He continued by recounting the immense pain faced by their family. “Their mother was still with us in Ingawa when this tragic news reached her. In a single day, she lost her in-law and four of her sons. As a family, we have lost five members in one of the most sorrowful days of our lives.”
The grieving relative concluded with a poignant reminder of life’s fragility, saying, “A gentle reminder that death comes unannounced. Every soul shall taste death at its appointed time, with no extension or reduction. May Allah forgive the departed souls and grant us all a peaceful end and a blessed home in the hereafter.”
