The First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu [/b]has provided reassurance to Nigerians, assuring them that the current challenges in the country will soon be overcome.
During a meeting with the Governors' Wives for her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), at the State House on Monday, the President's wife affirmed her commitment to a better future.
Mrs. Tinubu highlighted that 2024 holds the promise of "peace, progress, prosperity, and greater achievements" for all Nigerians.
Commending the governors' wives for their support in 2023, she urged them to persist in addressing the needs of the vulnerable in their states.
In response to the current challenges, she stated, "Times like this call for sober reflection; hence, all hands must be on deck. Moreover, the hardship situation is temporary; it will soon fade away."
The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), aligned with the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda, focuses on various projects, including the Women Agricultural Support Programme (WASP). This program, under RHI, aims to empower 20 farmers each from five states in the South East Zone with N500,000 each, totaling N10 million for five RHI state coordinators, as the case may be.
Collaborating with the National Agricultural Land Development Authority, the RHI will further support an additional 80 female farmers from each state, providing training, capacity building, and agricultural inputs. The initiative plans to purchase all produce from these farms after harvest.
