On Sunday, a fire broke out at Queens College in Yaba, as reported by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service. The incident occurred in a two-room quarter situated behind the school staff quarters, according to the Director of the service, Margaret Adeseye. However, Adeseye confirmed that no casualties were recorded, and the fire was swiftly extinguished by the state fire service.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Additionally, the Lagos State Fire Service and Federal Fire Service collaborated to put out the fire. The police prevented hoodlums from forcefully accessing the school premises, and no fatalities were recorded. Pictures from the scene show the extent of the damage caused by the fire, with burnt structures and debris littering the area.
βThe cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, the fire has since been put out by a combined effort of the Lagos State Fire Service and Federal Fire Service, while the police who were also alerted, prevented hoodlums from forcefully gaining access to the school premises. No life was lost in the incident,β said Adeseye. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
