The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has made an announcement regarding a further reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), now priced at N899.50 per litre. This price cut is aimed at providing some relief to Nigerians as they approach the holiday season, when travel and transportation costs tend to increase. The announcement of the reduction comes as part of Dangote Refinery's ongoing efforts to ensure that the general public feels the positive effects of its operations, especially during peak periods of demand such as the upcoming festive holidays.
This latest price change follows an earlier cut, where the price was reduced to N970 per litre on November 24 by Africa’s first privately-owned oil refinery, marking an earlier effort to stabilize fuel costs in the country.
The latest adjustment aims to alleviate some of the financial pressure that typically accompanies holiday travel, with the price reduction expected to make transportation more affordable for many Nigerians.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery made the announcement through a statement issued by the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, on Thursday. This step comes at a critical time, as the festive season is usually associated with an increase in travel and the associated expenses that come with it, especially for families and individuals who depend on transportation for long-distance travel.
