An aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Garba Shehu, has issued a statement titled "What Buhari didn't say to President Tinubu," refuting a social media claim that Buhari pleaded with President Bola Tinubu not to investigate former government officials. The statement comes in response to reports suggesting that during their recent meeting in London, Buhari requested Tinubu to refrain from probing his cabinet members.

According to Garba Shehu, these reports are entirely false, describing them as "fake news." He emphasizes that the conversation between Buhari and Tinubu took place privately, with no other individuals present to disclose its content. Shehu further states that Buhari intends to stay out of the spotlight in order not to divert attention from the new administration. Seeking peace and quiet, Buhari initially returned to his hometown of Daura, but due to continuous visitors, he relocated to a more secluded location.

Shehu concludes by expressing Buhari's desire for rest and urging the Tinubu administration to have a conducive environment to fulfill their promises.
