Major General Chris Jemitola (rtd),[/b] a distinguished former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo,[/b] has tragically passed away. The unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday morning when he collapsed at the IBB Golf Club. Sources close to his family revealed to The Whistler that he was immediately rushed to the hospital but was sadly pronounced dead on arrival.
Jemitola served as the ADC to President Obasanjo from 2003 to 2007, during which time he held the rank of colonel. His military career was marked by significant accomplishments, including his promotion to Major General in 2014. He also served as the Director of Defence Information and later as Nigeria’s Defence Attaché in Brazil, where he further contributed to the nation’s military efforts.
After his tenure in the military, Jemitola transitioned to the private sector, where he took on the role of Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited in 2019. His expertise and experience continued to shape the military communications landscape even after his retirement from active service.
His family has yet to release an official statement regarding his passing, and the news has left many mourning the loss of a respected military officer and public figure.
