The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has issued a stern warning ahead of the Ondo State governorship election scheduled for this Saturday, urging both party members and the electorate to remain vigilant against any potential election malpractice. Atiku emphasized the need for the election to be conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner, ensuring that the integrity of the democratic process is upheld. He strongly stressed that no attempts to undermine the credibility of the election would be tolerated, warning that any actions to subvert the will of the people would face firm opposition from the PDP.

In his statement, Atiku called on the relevant authorities to implement all necessary measures to prevent electoral fraud and to safeguard the fairness of the election. He underlined that the people of Ondo State deserve an election where their voices are heard, and where every vote cast will directly contribute to the shaping of the state’s future. The PDP leader reiterated his belief that democracy can only function effectively when the will of the people is respected, and when no one is allowed to interfere with or manipulate the voting process.

Atiku’s message served as a clear warning to anyone contemplating election malpractice. He emphasized that the PDP would not hesitate to stand firmly against any such attempts, making it clear that the party would work tirelessly to ensure that the election remains transparent and that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their vote without fear or obstruction. His statement, which was issued by his media aide, Paul Ibe, also included a call to the people of Ondo State to come out in large numbers and exercise their democratic right. Atiku encouraged the electorate to ensure that their votes count and that they play an active role in determining the outcome of the election.

Atiku’s warning also directed attention to the All Progressives Congress (APC), making it clear that the APC should not be allowed to suppress or manipulate the electorate in any way. He reminded the authorities and election management officials that the PDP would stand in direct opposition to any actions designed to alter the outcome of the election. In his statement, Atiku said, “This is also a sound warning to all election management officials and volunteers that the PDP will stand firmly against any malpractice in the Ondo governorship election.” He went on to reinforce that the party would use all available means to ensure that the election remains free from corruption or bias, protecting the will of the voters from any undue influence.

The PDP chieftain further stated, “When the tide is high, it becomes too big to rig.” He emphasized that the people of Ondo State are known for their honesty and integrity, suggesting that any attempt to rig the election would be futile because the people’s commitment to ensuring a fair election is unwavering. Atiku called for “eternal vigilance” during the election, noting that it is crucial for both party members and the electorate to stay alert to prevent any attempts to manipulate the results. He assured the people of Ondo State that as party leaders, the PDP would provide all necessary support to ensure that the APC is not allowed to repress or manipulate the voters’ wishes in this important election. Atiku concluded his statement by reiterating the need for all stakeholders to ensure that democracy prevails in Ondo State on Election Day.
