On Instagram, Reprudencia Sonkey, also known as Dencia, a Cameroonian artist, took a shot at Wizkid and Shatta Wale.
The 33-year-old singer chastised the duo for agreeing to work with Beyonce for free yet charging upcoming musicians for their first collaboration.
Mentalities like these, according to Dencia, are one of the reasons Africa is still behind the times.
Despite the fact that she did not name the singers, many believe she is alluding to Wizkid and Shatta Wale, whose successful songs with Beyonce have earned her millions.
Dencia believes that artists should choose money above popularity every now and then, but that they should do so intelligently. According to the sweet life singer, it's blatant hypocrisy for an artist to turn down cash from an international musician while milking his fellow musicians dry.
She went on to say that the majority of these artists don't collect money and instead borrow money from individuals for the sake of clout.
