Daniel Benson, formerly known as Buju, a Nigerian artist, has legally changed his stage name to BNXN.
The emerging afro-fusion artist announced the news on his official Twitter profile, noting that his new name will be pronounced 'Benson.'
The musician's name change became required after he was mistaken for another Jamaican singer known as Buju Banton, according to his announcement video from Thursday night.
"It's no longer referred to as 'Buju.'" The notice read, "Call me 'Benson,' typed as 'BNXN.'"
