Naira Marley surrendered himself on Monday to the police for attending actress Funke Akindele's birthday party for her husband.

The Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola, who is popularly known as Naira Marley, has been released on bail.
Premium Times reported that the Lagos police spokesman, Bala Elkana, said that Naira Marley's proposed arraignment could not hold on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, which was why he was granted bail.
JustNaija reported Marley surrendered himself for questioning for attending popular actress Funke Akindele's party for her husband's birthday during the lockdown order. It was reported that the musician turned himself in on Monday, April 6, 2020.
However, the Lagos police spokesman said that Naira Marley was let go because the court did not sit. According to him, the singer and three other unnamed people slept in custody on Monday as they intended to take them to court the following day.
But Naira Marley and the three others in police custody were let go but told to report back on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, when the court will be in session.
It was reported that the singer and three other persons whose names were not given, slept in custody on Monday as the police's intention was to charge them to court on Tuesday but when the court did not sit, they decided to let them go.
However, they are expected to report back to the police on Wednesday when the court would sit.
