Nigerian comic skit maker, content creator, and actor Zic Aloma has shared a new video three weeks after undergoing rhinoplasty, offering a detailed update on his recovery and revealing the personal reasons that led to his decision to undergo the nose surgery.
The video, which has since gone viral on various social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), captures Aloma speaking candidly about his experience. He took time to explain the recovery process, his thoughts on the procedure, and the long-standing insecurities that influenced his choice.
Providing an update on his recovery journey, Aloma highlighted how his face had undergone significant changes since the surgery. He recalled that in an earlier video shared just days after the procedure, his face appeared very swollen, which sparked concerns among some of his followers. However, he reassured his audience that the swelling had since reduced and would continue to subside over time.
While addressing his reasons for undergoing rhinoplasty, Aloma opened up about the emotional struggles he faced growing up. He disclosed that from a young age, he was frequently ridiculed by his siblings and others over the shape and size of his nose. The continuous teasing made him develop insecurities, leading to years of dissatisfaction with his facial features.
In the recently shared clip, Aloma confidently displayed the current state of his nose, expressing deep satisfaction with the outcome of the surgery. He also pointed out that the final results would become even more refined over time as his face continues to heal.
Furthermore, he addressed various misconceptions surrounding rhinoplasty, stressing that the procedure is not as extreme as some people assume. He elaborated:
“Some people don’t even understand what rhinoplasty is. They think it’s something life-threatening, but it’s just a cosmetic procedure. People get it done for different reasons. Some do it for medical reasons, such as fixing breathing difficulties, while others, like me, choose to enhance their appearance. I’ve always had a very flat nose, and if I had the chance to change it earlier, I would have.”
Recounting the ridicule he endured growing up, he said:
“My siblings used to tease me a lot, calling my nose too big and different from theirs. I was the only one in my family with this nose shape, and that always made me feel out of place. The constant teasing made me self-conscious about my looks.”
Addressing ongoing speculations about the cost of his rhinoplasty, Aloma clarified that he did not personally finance the surgery. He revealed that the entire procedure was part of a collaboration with the hospital that performed the surgery, saying:
“I know a lot of people have been speculating about how much I spent on my surgery. The truth is, I didn’t actually pay for it. The hospital and I had a collaboration, so they covered the cost.”
As the video continued to trend, social media users flooded the comment section with a mix of opinions, with some supporting his decision and others questioning the necessity of the procedure.
Check out some reactions below:
@SYL0X_499: “The swelling will go down, but the real question is—will he be paying for his kids to get surgery too?”
@voltage_gotpaid: “We honestly don’t care how much you spent, bro.”
@isshozzy: “Why did he do this? Did a girl reject him because of his nose? I thought money was supposed to make people comfortable in their own skin. Oh well, good luck, man.”
@CryptoThug01: “Maybe he should consider surgery for his head too.”
Despite the mixed reactions, Aloma appears unbothered by the criticisms and remains excited about his new look. He continues to share updates on his healing process while embracing his transformation with confidence.
