Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has stirred reactions after advising netizens to walk away if their marriage isn’t working.
Yul shared this advice on his Instagram page while reacting to a recent incident of domestic abuse between a couple. His post followed the tragic case of a woman who was allegedly burnt by her husband.
According to Yul, marriage is not a “do-or-die” affair, and it’s not mandatory to stay in a marriage if it’s no longer working. He emphasized that cheating or infidelity should never justify violence or taking someone’s life.
In his post, Yul expressed his condolences for the woman who suffered the abuse, stating: "If your marriage is not working, let go. Let go, walk away. I saw the video of the lady that was burnt by her husband and it broke my heart. Those having marital issues, listen up: Even if you catch your wife with another man, there’s no justification for harming her. If you catch your husband with another woman, there can be no justification for harming him. Don’t kill another human being because of marriage. Marriage is not do or die. Walk away.”
