Wunmi, the embattled wife of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has publicly called out actor and social media personality Yomi Fabiyi for allegedly inciting hatred and defaming her character. The controversial actor, who has been vocal in the public discourse surrounding Mohbad’s death, has faced criticism for his actions, and Wunmi decided to speak out against him during an interview on Arise News TV.
In the interview, Wunmi expressed her frustration over the damage she believes Fabiyi has caused to her reputation ever since he became involved in the Justice for Mohbad movement. She alleged that Fabiyi has used a past video of a disagreement between her and Mohbad to stir public resentment against her. Furthermore, she claimed that he has exploited the situation for personal financial gain, raising concerns over his intentions.

She revealed that he had blocked her before even joining the Justice for Mohbad campaign and that in his first video, Fabiyi called for her arrest while making serious allegations against her. These allegations included accusations of her being a murderer and labeling her son a bastard.
Wunmi further expressed her disbelief at the accusations, saying that she is too young to be going through such public scrutiny and that there should be more organizations to protect widows from such emotional distress. She called Fabiyi a coward for not confronting her directly during a recent meeting with the police commissioner, where he was given an opportunity to address his claims. She pointed out that Fabiyi had been inciting the public against her, making unsupported allegations that she had a role in Mohbad’s death based on a short, three-second video of a disagreement that took place a long time ago.
According to Wunmi, Fabiyi has used this video as a tool to extort the public, managing to raise over N10 million from it. She expressed pity for the women in Fabiyi’s life, stating that he seems to have an unreasonable hatred for her, despite the fact that she has no ill feelings toward him. She emphasized that she would rather spend time with her father than regret the moments they could have shared.
In her words: “There’s this guy online, a TikTok activist, Yomi Fabiyi who is such a misogynistic person - he hates women - and he has even blocked me before joining justice for Mohbad. In his first video, he called on the police to arrest me and has called me a murderer, called my son a bastard and has said so many things about me.”
Wunmi added: “There should be an organization protecting widows. I am too young to go through all this. He’s a coward who failed to say the things he said about me to the commissioner of police a few days ago.”
She concluded by saying: “He has been inciting the public against me, including allegations of me pushing my husband to his death due to a three-second video of a disagreement I had with Mohbad a long time ago. Yomi Fabiyi has been using the video to extort the public and has received over N10m. I pity the women in his life; he hates me for no reason.”
