Woodberry, an associate of the notorious scammer Hushpuppi, is reportedly facing a 14-year prison sentence for his involvement in an $8 million scam.
According to reports, US Federal prosecutors have urged the judge to sentence Woodberry to 14 years in prison for defrauding multiple US companies.
Both Hushpuppi and Woodberry had pleaded guilty to one count out of the eight charges brought against them in a US court. As part of his guilty plea, Woodberry agreed to surrender $8 million in fraud proceeds, along with luxury cars and watches, to the foreign government.
"The government recommends that this court sentence the defendant to 168 months' imprisonment, which is sufficient, but not greater than necessary, to comply with the purposes set forth in 18 U.S.C. ยง 3553(a)," stated the prosecutors. "The government further recommends that the court order restitution and forfeiture as described above and impose a special assessment of $100."
