Abraham Daniel, a former pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has accused the church’s Senior Pastor, Paul Enenche, of staging miracles during services.

As reported by SaharaReporters, Daniel shared these allegations in an interview with Kaa Truths, during which he also provided insights into his reasons for leaving the church. He expressed dissatisfaction with the methods employed during “healing and deliverance” sessions, calling them flawed and misleading.

Daniel claimed that the supposed miracles were fabricated and failed to bring about genuine healing. According to him, the crowds at these events were chaotic, with attendees often reacting out of desperation. He described the atmosphere as comparable to a stadium crowd panicking over the presence of a dangerous animal, saying:

“When people see the crowd, they do the unthinkable. It’s like hearing there’s a lion nearby; even a crippled might jump the fence.”

He alleged that the number of individuals seeking healing after each session surpassed the initial attendees. He further emphasized that these services often left people frustrated and pastors overwhelmed.

“I would tell you that healing is a capital no. And it is with due respect to him and to Dunamis Church; I have nothing to lose or gain. The miracles are not real; they don’t happen,” he stated.

Explaining further, he recounted his personal frustrations as a pastor within the church. He noted that after healing services, many people still demanded to see Pastor Enenche, leading to chaotic situations for other pastors who were left to handle the crowd.

“As a pastor, you know, because when daddy has gone, the Wahala now is left for us because they have to meet us. Oh, pastor, please, I need to see daddy. I brought this person. I brought that person. And people, oh, I’m like, ho? Where do I start from? You could see pain,” he explained.

Daniel also alleged that the atmosphere during Dunamis services contributed to creating an illusion of miracles. He referred to the environment as an “emotional influence,” comparing it to the effects of attending concerts by popular artists, where temporary relief from ailments is often mistaken for healing.

“When you’re on the stage, it’s different from reality. When you are in a crowded atmosphere charged with disco lights, loud music, and emotional energy, it feels different. But once the lights are off and you face reality, the truth becomes clear,” he stated.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Daniel, alongside Alex Enenche, the younger brother of Pastor Paul Enenche, was recently detained by the Force Intelligence Department (FID) of the Nigerian Police on allegations of cyberbullying and criminal defamation against the pastor.

The two were arrested on January 7, 2025, but released on bail the following day after an agreement to resolve the matter amicably. According to their legal counsel, Barrister Ernest Okpaga, the duo cooperated fully with the authorities but were detained for hours before their statements were recorded.

The FID has directed both individuals to report back for further proceedings on January 10 and January 13, 2025, respectively. Okpaga noted that the legal team remains committed to ensuring that the rights of his clients are protected throughout the process.
