On Monday, popular social media influencer Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, made a significant appearance at the National Assembly. Dressed in a traditional white garment representing his Benin heritage, he attended to honour the House of Representatives' invitation regarding a high-profile investigation.
The House of Representatives had summoned VeryDarkMan to provide assistance in the ongoing probe into serious bribery allegations against two key national institutions—the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS). This invitation came after VeryDarkMan raised concerns about possible misconduct involving these bodies.
GistReel reports that VeryDarkMan had alleged that EFCC dropped money laundering charges against Idris Okuneye, popularly know as Bobrisky after receiving N15 million.
VeryDarkMan in a trending voice conversation he shared on his Instagram page suggested that Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, paid N15 million to EFCC to drop charges of money laundering initially made against him and that he spent time in a VIP facility instead of prison
After hearing the allegations, the Reps committee requested that both the EFCC Chairman and the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service attend a hearing on Monday, September 30, along with all relevant officers tied to the allegations.
The House Committee also invited Bobrisky.
