Olajumoke Orisaguna, famously known as the bread seller who rose to stardom in 2019 after being accidentally discovered during a photoshoot, has recently shared her story of exploitation and unfulfilled promises by some celebrities who were part of her journey to fame.
In a heartfelt interview on the Honest Bunch podcast, Olajumoke disclosed how she was allegedly exploited and underpaid for numerous opportunities that were publicized as life-changing. According to her, despite the media portraying her as a success story, the reality of her experience was filled with disappointment and financial struggles.
She recalled her experience with notable singer Harrysong, alleging she was not paid for her appearance in his music video for Chacha.
“I went to Harrysong’s house in Lekki, did a dance for him in his video. He claimed he paid me N400K according to a written statement, but it is false; I did it for free. He didn’t pay me anything,” she stated.
Olajumoke also shared other instances where she felt used, mentioning she received as little as N200K for work that involved international travel.
“They used me for work and didn’t pay me. One paid me N200K after taking me to South Africa for work,” she added.
