Controversial activist, Verydarkman, has publicly issued an apology to the Nigerian police following his unauthorized use of their uniform. This incident has sparked significant attention and discussion among the public and on social media platforms.
Gistreel recalls that just days ago, Verydarkman caught many off guard when he donned a police uniform and declared himself a "social media police" tasked with "sanitizing the e-streets." His unexpected proclamation and choice of attire drew a mix of intrigue and criticism from various quarters.
However, he had been cautioned by the Nigerian police over the use of their garb.
A recent video online shows Verydarkman rendering an apology to the Nigerian police.
He noted that he had only made a uniform similar to it, and his wearing it wasn’t in any way an attempt to satirise or mock the forces.
Verydarkman rendered an apology to the forces and thanked them for their selfless service in protecting lives and properties of the masses.
“Back from the police station where I was interrogated based on the post I made wearing a costume that the police claim is similar to theirs, didn’t intend to impersonate the police in anyway and I tender my unreserved apologies to the Nigeria police force and the office of the inspector general of police and also I will like to use the medium to tell the general public to always seek permission from the police or other law enforcement agencies before using anything that might look like their uniform, you might want to use it for good but there are others that might want to use it for bad,so it’s good to get full approval before using anything that might seem impersonating @nigeriapoliceforce and also shout out to my lawyer @adeyanjudeji who is always ready to stand”
