In the midst of the ongoing controversy surrounding Nana Akua's AMVCA outfit, fashion icon Veekee James has stepped forward to offer guidance to her fellow designers.
Following the dispute where Nana Akua Addo was accused by Nigerian designer Ezinne Olivia of failing to credit her for designing her AMVCA outfit, Nana Akua's legal team issued a cease and desist letter to Olivia.
In response, Veekee James offered her insights, albeit acknowledging she didn't have all the details of the dispute.
She cautioned designers and stylists to be cautious of clients who ask, "Do you want money or a tag?" emphasizing the importance of prioritizing payment over recognition.
The esteemed designer, known for crafting Osas Ighodaro's AMVCA ensemble, also urged her colleagues to steer clear of chasing fame, emphasizing the significance of financial transactions and understanding the true essence of being a designer.
She proudly declared that her achievements were attributed to divine grace, distancing herself from dependence on any individual for her success.
