Nigerian actor Uche Maduagwu has fiercely criticized fashion designer Veekee James for making what he considers an unnecessary and unwarranted comment about single ladies. According to Uche, Veekee James’ attempt to offer advice to single women about relationships was misplaced and uncalled for. Uche responded to her post, stating that no one was seeking or needed her unsolicited advice on relationships. He emphasized that every individual's relationship experiences are unique, and thus her perspective doesn't apply to everyone.
Uche Maduagwu took to social media to express his disapproval of Veekee James and her advice, claiming that it was presumptuous for her to use her personal experiences and her marriage as a standard for others. He remarked that what works for her may not be suitable for someone else, as different people have different needs and preferences when it comes to relationships. He also pointed out that Veekee James had no right to suggest that her marriage was the ideal situation for all single women to aspire to.
Uche Maduagwu stated that what fits Veekee James might not be good for another person; hence, the fashion designer had no business using her marriage as a yardstick to share advice with single ladies.
According to the actor, most women in Nigeria want their men to be financially responsible for their needs and not vice versa.
“Stop making it look like marriage is a designer dress that it fits all. The kind of man wey you want fit be man wey be say Nigerians go dey laugh at am. They go dey laugh am for social media. That is the kind of man you like but some ladies don’t like their men like that” he said.
This comment from Uche Maduagwu follows after Veekee James shared a photo of her husband and herself with the caption, “This could be you and somebody’s son, but you like your men tall and handsome with perfect set of teeth, 100% financial responsibility, impeccable dress sense, very spiritual, yet with a touch of bad boyness.”
