The news of the film’s incredible box office performance was first announced by the local distributor, drawing an emotional reaction from the actress. In her Instagram post, Toyin reflected on her journey and celebrated her growth in the industry, revealing how she surpassed her previous record by a significant margin.
“God of my journey, thank you. I am grateful that you helped me beat my last record! I am my own competition! Last year, I made ₦52M after seven days; this year, I made ₦134M after seven days. That is over a 157.69% increase. God, I am that woman who returns to say thank you,” she wrote.
Toyin also extended her appreciation to her fans for their unwavering love and dedication to her work. In addition to celebrating her achievement, Toyin spoke candidly about the challenges she has faced in the competitive Nollywood industry. She praised the cinemas that supported her movie and encouraged growth within the industry. At the same time, she addressed the actions of those who, in her view, tried to hinder her success.
“To the cinemas, especially the ones that have made it clear that their goal is for the industry to grow and support every movie irrespective of who is distributing it, thank you. And to those cinemas that made it clear they don’t want us to succeed, God has proven Himself to be greater than man—thank you, Lord,” she
added.
