Renowned Nigerian actress and politician, Tonto Dikeh, has broken her silence following her switch to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Earlier this week, she was officially unveiled as a member of the party by the APC National women leader, Dr. Mary Alile.
The confirmation of her membership was made through an announcement on the party’s Twitter account.
Tonto Dikeh's defection sparked a range of reactions, with some accusing her of inconsistency. In response, she emphasized her belief that effective leadership stems from visionary individuals who dedicate themselves to serving others.
Her unwavering commitment is directed toward the progress of her country, Nigeria, and the empowerment of its youth.
She asserted that her decision to join the APC isn't just a personal victory but a win for Nigerians who are seeking hope and striving to overcome challenges.
She expressed her confidence in Nigeria's potential for prosperity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tonto Dikeh articulated her stance in a statement:
“Facts supported by evidence have a way of settling arguments and inspiring significant decisions and changes for the greater good. Presented with the facts, objectives, and vision of the current Renewed Hope Agenda, I have chosen to set aside emotions and continue my work for the betterment of Nigerian youth, women, and the nation as a whole, just as I've consistently done through the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) in partnership with the Federal Government.
I have learned over the years that impactful leadership arises from visionary leaders who offer selfless service to humanity. I am dedicated to the progress of my country, Nigeria, and the young people of this great nation.
