Songstress Tiwa Savage has revealed a heartwarming anecdote about her interaction with fellow artist and rapper, Olamide.
Tiwa Savage shared how Olamide declined ₦100 million payment for a verse in her song after his management quoted the fee.
The Stamina crooner explained that Olamide refused payment due to their close bond and his understanding of the challenges female artists face in the music industry.
Instead, Olamide generously provided the verse for free, showcasing his supportive and compassionate nature.
Tiwa Savage expressed her appreciation and highlighted the presence of kind-hearted individuals like Olamide in the industry. Reflecting on their recent collaboration on the track 'Commona,' she stated:
“I was communicating with his management team because I didn't want to approach him directly, as I knew he would want to do it for free. When I spoke to his team, they quoted ₦100 million. I was ready to pay, but when Olamide heard it was me, he simply said NO. He refused to accept any payment, calling me his sister and understanding how challenging it is for women in the industry. That's how he declined the payment and gave me the verse for free. There are good people in this industry, and Baddo is one of them.”
