Nigerian songstress Tiwa Savage has opened up about her ambition to expand her career beyond music and establish an empire that will solidify her status among the most successful self-made women in the world.
During an exclusive interview with Forbes, the 45-year-old singer-songwriter shared insights into her lifelong vision, revealing that her dream of empire-building has been with her since her teenage years.
Reflecting on her school days, Tiwa recounted how she always had an inclination for the entertainment industry and how her interests extended beyond music into other creative fields.

“When I was in school, there were basic subjects like math, English, and there were also electives like sports, drama, and music. I chose drama, and just even from earlier on, I knew that I had a gift for acting. Even when I started my music career, I knew that at some point, I was going to go back into that field,” she shared during the interview with FORBES AFRICA via a Zoom call.
She further elaborated on how her diverse background, from growing up in Nigeria to moving to the United Kingdom and later studying jazz in America, has greatly influenced her artistic expression.
“Growing up in Nigeria, then moving to the United Kingdom and studying jazz in America, I absorbed different musical influences,” she explained.
“I can do a jazz record, a garage song, or an Afrobeats track, and it all feels authentic. I have lived these experiences.”
Tiwa Savage confidently stated, “I want to go into my mogul era,” emphasizing her determination to transition into a new phase of her career where she takes on a leadership role in the entertainment and business world.
She also disclosed some of her future projects, revealing that she has plans to establish a school or a scholarship program dedicated to teaching music and nurturing upcoming artists.
According to her, she envisions a platform that will not only empower the next generation of musicians but also leave a lasting impact on the industry.
