Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson recently shared his perspective on romantic relationships, suggesting that many women have monetized the concepts of love and dating. He expressed his views during a recent interview with TVC, where he discussed how the dynamics of relationships have evolved in today’s society.

He pointed out that this belief among men is fueled by the fact that many women mistake a man’s financial expenditure as an indicator of love.
Timini emphasized that while some men may lavish money on women, it is important to understand that this is not necessarily a sign of genuine affection. He noted that these wealthy men can afford to spend large amounts on many women without forming deep emotional connections with them. In fact, he explained that the availability of money often leads to a nonchalant attitude toward relationships because wealthy men have numerous options to choose from, especially when they know that many women are willing to be financially courted in exchange for attention.
He shared his thoughts by saying: “The nonchalant attitude of some men is because there are a lot of women accessible to them. You know, once you have money, you have a lot of options. And that is also because a lot of women have monetised dating.” He further elaborated: “Some men know that when they spend lavishly on a lady, she would think they are in love with her. But that is not love because he’s a billionaire, he can afford to do the same thing for hundreds of girls.”
In his reflection, Timini pointed out the broader issue of how materialistic views on love are often misinterpreted, leading to misguided expectations in relationships. He stressed the importance of understanding the difference between genuine love and the transactional nature that some modern relationships have taken on due to the monetary element involved.
