Tayo Faniran, a former contestant of Big Brother Africa, recently shared that he had declined acting opportunities in Nigeria's Nollywood film industry in the past because he was earning more money as a model in South Africa.
Although he acknowledged that Nollywood was an option after winning BBA, he ultimately chose to remain in South Africa because the entertainment industry there was more lucrative. However, Faniran did express disappointment in not being given as much exposure as South African citizens, as he was not a resident of the country.
Despite this, he stated that he is now interested in pursuing an acting career in Nigeria and is willing to put in extra effort to deliver good performances. According to him, all the roles he has gotten in Nollywood were based on merit, and he is eager to learn more about the industry.
Faniran also expressed his desire to receive more support from his home country, stating that at one point, he felt that he was not getting the opportunities he needed to advance his acting career.
With his renewed interest in acting, it remains to be seen how his career will unfold and whether he will become a prominent figure in Nollywood. However, Faniran's determination and willingness to learn suggest that he could be successful if given the right opportunities.
