A veteran South African actor Sello Maake kaNcube has reportedly refused to return the personal belongings of his estranged wife, Pearl Mbewe, following their separation. The items in question include her clothes, shoes, and underwear.
According to reports, tensions flared when the estranged couple engaged in a heated argument at Maake kaNcube’s residence in Dube, Soweto. The dispute arose when Mbewe attempted to retrieve her personal belongings, but Maake kaNcube allegedly denied her access to the items. The disagreement escalated as Mbewe sought to reclaim her possessions, which included intimate items such as her panties, dresses, and shoes.
Before their marriage deteriorated, the couple had turned several rooms in their shared home into workspaces for their respective projects. However, the separation has led to disagreements over shared property and personal items. Reports suggest that Maake kaNcube became visibly agitated when Mbewe attempted to retrieve her belongings. Realizing she couldn’t handle the situation on her own, Mbewe enlisted the help of friends and family members to assist in retrieving her items from the house.
An eyewitness recounted the chaotic scene, saying, “When I heard him yelling, I knew something was wrong. There was a vehicle parked in the driveway, and furniture was being loaded onto it. Maake kaNcube was visibly agitated, shouting at the individuals assisting with the move.” The eyewitness described the scene as tense and emotionally charged, with both parties visibly upset.
In an interview with Sunday World, Pearl Mbewe expressed her frustration and hopes for a peaceful resolution. She stated, “I hope my estranged husband comes to his senses and returns all my belongings without me needing to involve the authorities. This situation has caused unnecessary stress, and I want to move on without further conflict.”
The incident has sparked discussions about property disputes and personal boundaries following separations, with many urging both parties to resolve their differences amicably. Observers hope that the veteran actor and his estranged wife can find a resolution that avoids further public conflict or legal action.
