Ghanaian dancehall singer Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., widely known as Shatta Wale, recently expressed that no Ghanaian artist matches the popularity of Nigerian singer Asake. This statement was made during a Twitter space event hosted by Ghanaian media personality Serwaa Amihere.

"Nobody in the Ghanaian [music] industry has accomplished what Asake has. Let’s be realistic,” he added.
Responding to the host's inference, Shatta Wale clarified, “Why would I need to reach Asake's level [to be considered the richest artiste in Ghana]? There are artists in other countries, like a Spanish artiste in Spain or the Dominican Republic, who are making money that we might not even be aware of.”
