Afropop sensation, Shalipopi has officially announced his departure from Dapper Music,, citing allegations of exploitation by the record label boss.
This major development comes shortly after the departure of Seyi Vibez from the same record label, signaling a growing trend among artists to move away from the label. The timing of these exits has raised questions about the internal workings and management of Dapper Music.
In a heartfelt and revealing official statement shared on his Instagram page, Shalipopi opened up about the reasons behind his decision to part ways with Dapper Music. He stated that his departure was a result of several significant issues, including a lack of transparency regarding his personal finances. This lack of clarity, he explained, contributed to the exploitation he felt he was enduring, as well as a conflict of interest that ultimately threatened to sabotage his music career.
Another key factor that led to Shalipopi's decision was what he described as an unfair and binding ‘forever deal.’ He emphasized that the terms of the agreement were detrimental to his growth and autonomy as an artist, pushing him to take a stand for his future and well-being.
