Veteran Nigerian actor Segun Arinze has shared his opinion about the rumored homosexuality practices in the Nollywood industry, addressing the topic with clarity and openness during a recent interview.
During the interview with Arise TV, the 59-year-old actor made it clear that he does not engage in any homosexual activities, dismissing the rumors surrounding the entertainment industry. He stated firmly that he is not a part of such practices within Nollywood.
He further emphasized that he cannot personally confirm the validity of the rumors claiming that some of his colleagues in Nollywood are involved in homosexuality or "bending over," as he does not partake in such behavior. He added with a hint of humor and indifference, saying, “I do not bend over, so I cannot react to it. Well if they do bend over, they should keep bending. That is their problem.”
Segun Arinze then made it clear that his stance on the issue is one of respect for individual choices. He acknowledged that if any of his colleagues choose to engage in homosexuality, it is ultimately their decision as adults. He emphasized that he believes everyone has the right to live as they please, stating, “They are adults and they have a right to do whatever they want to do. It is none of my business.”
The actor continued to assert his personal philosophy by expressing that he prefers not to concern himself with matters outside of his own professional and personal life. “I am not going to concern myself with that. I do not like those flashbacks, I like living my life straightforward, doing my business, and being the professional that I am,” he said, reinforcing his commitment to focus on his career and not be distracted by external issues.
