[p]Nigerian actress Ruby Ojiakor has spoken out about how she lost a lead role with Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel, after she refused sexual advances from a movie marketer. In an interview with The Punch, the actress disclosed that some movie executives have been demanding sex from female actresses for a particular movie role. Ruby revealed that she was replaced with another person when she refused to sleep with the marketer. The actress had already shot some scenes in the movie with Majid Michel, but the producer's decision to change her was not explained. Ruby asked if Majid agreed to re-shoot those scenes, and she was told he was paid extra money to do so. The scenes she had already shot were wiped out from the movie. Ruby stated that reporting such incidents to the authorities has not yielded positive results, as the offenders usually gang up against the actress in the industry. She advised actresses to train themselves to be firm and not succumb to such demands.
