Mohbad’s childhood friend, Primeboy, has reportedly taken legal action against the late singer’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo, over alleged defamation. The upcoming artist, through his legal representatives, has filed a lawsuit claiming that certain statements made by Mohbad’s mother have tarnished his reputation and subjected him to public ridicule.
According to the lawsuit, Abosede Adeyemo allegedly made defamatory, libelous, and malicious remarks about Primeboy during an interview on March 28, 2024. These statements, as stated in the legal document, were widely disseminated and published by various media outlets, causing severe harm to Primeboy’s public image and career.
The lawsuit further alleges that the comments made by Mohbad’s mother falsely portrayed Primeboy in a negative light, damaging his reputation in the eyes of the public, fans, and industry stakeholders. The singer, who has been battling with public perception since the tragic passing of Mohbad, asserts that these statements have intensified the scrutiny and backlash he has faced.
As a result of the alleged defamation, Primeboy is demanding N50 million in damages, citing emotional distress, reputational damage, and financial loss. His legal team argues that the defamatory statements have significantly affected his career and personal life, leading to unjustified attacks on his character.
“N50 million in damages for libelous, injurious, falsehood, and malicious statements made on the 28th of March, 2024, to defame the claimant in the eyes of right-thinking members of society,” a portion of the legal statement reads.
The upcoming singer is now seeking legal redress to clear his name and ensure accountability for the alleged defamation. His legal team has also indicated that further actions may be taken if the claims are not addressed properly.
