In her statement, Dr. Enenche emphasized that tithe payment should be consistent, as irregularities can result in setbacks in one’s spiritual and personal life. According to her, failing to pay tithe consistently erases the contributions made in the past, causing them to be “deleted” and “nullified.” She strongly stated that, “Paying of tithes must be done consistently. Anytime you miss paying your tithe, you will return back to square one. All the other tithes you’ve paid become deleted and completely nullified.”

This statement, which was shared through a viral video, has stirred up a variety of reactions from both Nigerian audiences and the wider Christian community. While many members of her congregation and supporters of Dr. Enenche’s teachings agree with her interpretation, there has also been significant criticism, with some questioning whether this view is biblically supported.

Despite the viral nature of the video, it remains unclear whether the clip was recent or taken from an earlier date. Additionally, Dunamis International Gospel Centre, where Pastor Paul Enenche and Dr. Becky Enenche serve, has not yet made an official comment on the statement, leaving many curious about the church’s stance on the matter.

Reactions trailing Pastor Enenche’s wife’s comment on tithe

DaNn_Snr voiced concern, stating: “These modern-day pastors have misinterpreted the true readings…most of them preach based on inspiration and their intuition, not as it is written.”

Tooshugary4U expressed a more skeptical viewpoint, saying: “The church members will learn and they’ll learn it the hardest way if they continue to listen to their pastors.”

ema4yo reflected on the situation by commenting: “Every day, I keep seeing reasons not to go to church.”

IEmmanWilson took a biblical approach in their response, suggesting: “Then the king will say, come O blessed of my father, for I was hungry, you gave me food; I was thirsty, you gave me drink. Jesus never mentioned paying your tithe. But kindness to one another, your deeds to one another, is what matters, not tithe. Matthew 26:34-45.”
